Australia will soon hold a referendum (October 14) on a change to the Constitution that would give First Nations peoples here an advisory role on policies that affect them. It's called a Voice to Parliament and has been a long time coming for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples, people who have lived on this land for more than 60,000 years. I've added my name and a testimonial to the 'Writers for the Voice' group's site. I hope other Australian-based writers will join us.
