The Queen of Cups

My 82-year-old mother hasn’t lost the old magic. She’s just won top prize at a breast cancer fundraiser by bouncing the most ping pong balls into bras pinned to a board. During the playoffs (three rounds) with the other finalist (a younger woman), my mother kept making everyone laugh by kissing her ping pong ball before throwing it at the cups. She’s come away with $500 (£250) worth of prizes and is still laughing. Champion!

Note: Marion bounced the ping pong balls into the smaller cups. Everyone else was going for the big cups. But when the points for the first round were added up, it was the smaller cups that counted. Then there were three playoffs with her younger rival. That’s when she got showy and was kissing the balls, a crowd pleaser.‬
